I was born in the UK in 1969, the youngest of parents who moved there in 1952 from Punjab India. I moved to BC, Canada in 1989 and live there happily with my wife and daughter.
I studied graphic arts throughout school and college and eventually worked as a graphic designer for a silk screening company. Growing tired of the slick corporate logo world, I packed up shop and travelled across India and Nepal before returning to Canada vowing not to get into graphic arts again.
Working for a while out of the artworld I felt the need to get back in touch with my artistic side, so experimenting with different mediums found a real connection with acrylic on canvas. My chosen medium and I were struggling with finding a style for a while...
I think I always will, but that's the beauty of it for me, nothing worth doing in life should be easy... we would never appreciate the final result. I like to think my work captures something alive out of the subject and gives the viewer a little moment in time caught on canvas.
I do custom paintings for clients and also some charities for auctions to raise money for great causes. They make a unique gift since they are one off original pieces and great for an avid fan, collector, store, or office to display.
